"Il
Brecciolino" Rosso IGT, is made from a carefully blended selection of Sangiovese, Colorino, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This particular wine is aged in French barriques where it acquires its characteristic round softness and where it refines its intense bouquet. "Il Vinsanto"
and "Il Vinsanto
chiaccherata notturna" characteristics Tuscan wines obtained from Malvasia and Trebbiano grapes. It is aged in caratelli (traditional small barrels) for at least five years, and is the result of a hand selection of grapes that are dried to a raisinlike consistency on straw mats according to an ancient tradition, producing a highly enhanced must with a high concentration of sugar. Vinsanto del Chianti is recommended as an accompaniment to desserts, fruits and nuts, or simply as a "wine for meditation." In addition to these wines, the Estate produces the Chianti DOCG
"Santa
Caterina" , the Rosso Toscano IGT "Numero
Otto", the Bianco IGT "San Lorenzo"
and the "Grappa di Chianti Castelvecchio". The
"Extra Vergine Olive Oil"
produced on the Estate is still made according to traditional ways: the olives are gathered by hand from the trees and brought, the same day, to the frantoio where they cold pressed. Only this system allows for the production of a unique oil with an unmistakable taste. The best way to appreciate the quality of our products is to taste them during a visit to our
cellars.
