This wine emphasizes the typicality of the 2 native Tuscan varietals. Fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats for 12 days with daily pumping over, aging 50% in cement tanks and 50% in second passaage wood and further refinement aging in bottle.
Santa Caterina is our traditional label that represents our first line of red and reflects, in its simplicity, the typical Tuscan taste of a good glass of Chianti.
The design on the label recalls a detail of the entrance to the garden of Castelvecchio, was born from the original design of Carlo Rocchi in 1962 during his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.
BLEND
Wine made in majority from Sangiovese grapes in addition with other red grapes varieties cultivated at the estate.
Vineyards: Frutteto and Conca (Sangiovese) coltivated with Guyot and cordon spur training system.
CHARACTERISTICS
COLOUR: Brilliant ruby red.
BOUQUET: Intense with sensations of red rose, red cherry and plum, light spiciness, tobacco hints and herbal notes on the finish.
TASTE: Good light-body, excellent freshness that persist in the sip with a nice aftertaste, pleasant tannins, savoury finish
ALCOHOL: 14%
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Recommended for everyday meal but mainly with light meat-based dishes and savoury meal as well as aperitif with cheeses and salami or plates with vegetables-based.
