SANGIOVESE TUSCAN IGT Supertuscan

Manual harvest of the best bunches and subsequent selection. Cold maceration for 48 hours, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel for 20-25 days with pumping over and gentle pressing. Maturation in new barrels for 15-18 months and further aging in bottle.

Since the 2009 vintage the wine we decided to bottle a mono varietal selection of the grape that has given the best results during the year. In the harvest 2009 the best grapes was Cabernet Sauvignon but in the subsequent vintages 2010-2011-2013-2015-2018-2019 the most important grape variety was Sangiovese.

CHARACTERISTICS

COLOUR: Ruby red with garnet shades on the edges.

BOUQUET: Intense, complex aromas with mature red berries (under spirt or jam), flower hints as dry flowers (pot pourri), notes of undergrowth and balsamic herbs, notes of dark chocolate.

TASTE: Fruity with elegant body, silky and harmonious tannins with a persistent freshness that invites you to retaste,  good sapidity on the final taste and an excellent aftertaste persistence.
ALCOHOL: 14,5% (2018 – 2019).

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Wine that can be match with strong meats, roasts and games, stews or with flavoured pasta dishes or aged cheeses. Red for dink now or suitable for the long aging. Serving temperature 14°-16° C.
